Unfortunately circumstances often exist which make reuniting teens with their families impossible. When this is the case, the Transitional Living Program (TLP) provides a safe place to live and a curriculum to enable older teens achieve independence through completion of their education, employment placement assistance, structured savings and life skills education. Diogenes supplies the means, knowledge and opportunities for abandoned youth to become self sufficient and live independently.
TLP is provided for older adolescents and young adults who need safe, supportive housing so they can devote their energies toward completing their education, learning and mastering independent living skills, securing employment, and establishing savings as precursors to self-sufficiency.
We currently manage twelve (12) beds in a newly re-modeled duplex for male and female youth age 16-18. Supervision is provided by on-site staff on a 24-hour basis. Residents have access to phones, computers, fax machines, and copiers to aid them in their school and job readiness activities.
